Daughter of Djinn is a supernatural thriller set in modern-day London. Avirah is a free Djinn who lives a stifled life with Berkeley, a retired angel, and their cat Margo in a lofty apartment in East Putney. She is tormented by surreal dreams that interfere with her reality. After befriending Cyan, another Djinn who has escaped his own realm, Avirah must decide whether she can save her enslaved family, or protect the new family she has found in the human realm. This excerpt is from the opening of the novel, following Avirah’s latest nightmare.
